According to
terminology adopted in Russia, "Fuel-and-Power Complex", "energy
sector", and "energy" refer to commercial enterprises dealing with the
extraction, production, processing, conversion, and specialized
transportation of fuel and power resources.
The RFE accounted
for 2 and 4.6 percent, respectively, of Russia's total energy
production and consumption in 1996. Electricity production accounted
for 4.3 percent (in 1997).
